AAII Houston March 23, 2021 Webinar Meeting

What To Do When a Strategy Performs Poorly

by Larry Swedroe, Buckingham Strategic Wealth

The sad fact is that most investors believe 3 years is a long time to judge the performance of an investment strategy, 5 years very long, and 10 an eternity, but financial economists know that 10 years is likely just noise
when it comes to risky assets—all risky assets go through long periods of underperformance.

Three lessons from this presentation which could be applied to your portfolio include:

  • How to judge the performance of your investments.
  • The effects of economic noise on your portfolio.
  • When to modify your investment strategy.

AAII is making available a recent AAII interview with Larry Swedroe in which he explains how to use factor investing to increase portfolio diversification and help reduce risk.
